We've joined up with Brandon Tolbert and the team of explorers at Safety Team Brewing in Virginia to navigate the mysteries of a rum barrel treatment on a rum cake-inspired Imperial Porter. An early foundation of pecans and walnuts coupled with finishing provisions of Fortunato cacao nibs and toasted pecans steer this expedition toward quick disappearance. Imperial Porter brewed with pecans and walnuts, aged in (80%) rum and (20%) bourbon barrels with Madagascar vanilla beans, then finished with cacao nibs and toasted pecans.
