Welcome our latest seasonal selection: Eureka Single Hop Session. We love our full strength IPA’s but a couple of them can catch up to you pretty quickly. Our Session IPA provides the necessary hop character without the higher ABV. The malt bill is simple, mainly consisting of Montana malted barley with a touch of cara-pils and crystal 15. Eureka is a newer high alpha variety from Hopsteiner, which features a pungent, resinous aroma with hints of pine and dark fruit. It comes from the CTZ family as a direct descendent of Apollo. The quality of bitterness comes across as fairly smooth and clean despite higher co-humulone levels. The spicy flavor is pleasant and quenching without being overpowering. Single hop beers make for fun experimentation and education. A hop breeding program’s laborious and uncertain lifespan can take over ten years with far more failures than successes as the diligent breeders work to balance various aspects of agriculture with the demands of brewers.
