You guys kept telling us that we needed to keep brewing fruited sours even when the warm weather ended, so we listened. Our first fruited sour for the dark months features one of Germany’s favorite fruits for fall and winter desserts: the plum. Plums spread around Germany when Charlemagne planted them on his estates while ruling in Aachen. Our Pflaum Traum (German for “Plum Dream”) is a kettle sour made with both everyday and mirabelle plums. Smooth, subtle, and not too sour this is the perfect beer to provide a refreshing bit of light amongst the typical dark beers of the season. You might plan to start with one as a palate cleanser, but it goes down so easy, you might just knock ‘em back all night long. Thanks, Charlemagne!
