Bourbon and coffee. Coffee and bourbon. We underscore the relationship between these two delightful libations by aging a titanic imperial stout with cocoa nibs and vanilla in bourbon barrels, then adding coffee beans that have themselves been rested in separate bourbon barrels. The resulting beer combines the roastiness of espresso with the spiciness of fine bourbon and the rich chocolate flavor of an obsidian-black imperial stout.
