In October 2005, Guinness announced the Brewhouse Series, a limited-edition collection of draught stouts. The first in the series is Guinness Brew 39. It uses the same fusion of ingredients as Guinness. The same Guinness yeast, the same Guinness characteristics - the unmistakable black body and creamy white head, but the late addition of hops gives it a smooth and distinctive finish. The other two beers in the series were: Toucan Brew - It was named after the cartoon toucan used in many Guinness advertisements. This beer had a crisper taste with a slightly sweet aftertaste due to its triple-hopped brewing process. North Star - Brewed using lightly blended malts to produce a silky, well-rounded finish, it is a pint of rare distinction that is named in honour of the Brewer’s Star.
