This beer was the result of a phone call from a friend that knew of some ripe Syrah grapes that needed to come off the vine from a home vineyard located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz mountains just west of the brewery. We harvested and destemmed a few hundred pounds of grapes and then co-fermented them with a clean sour beer. The resulting beer has a lot of similarities to a sparkling rose with flavors of strawberry, tart cherry, citrus, and a pleasant brioche breadiness.
