Пиво Sour Cherry Gose - Trenčiansky pivovar Lanius

The Gose beer style is the only beer considered historically unique enough to be given the benefit of an exception from the Reinheitsgebot beer purity regulation law of 1516, which applies to all other German beers. It is a spontaneously fermented ale exploiting ubiquitous microflora for its fermenta-tion and as an effect, apart from the yeast, it also contains fruit- and milk-fermenting bacteria. More-over, Gose is brewed salty, a habit originating in the original composition of mineral waters in the vicinity of the German town of Goslar, the cradle of this beer. The resulting nonconformist sour-and--salty taste is balanced by ground coriander. We attempted to freshen up this beer style by adding fresh morello cherries, as is often done by the producers of Belgian Iambics, a Flemish parallel to spontaneously fermented beers with dry and sour taste. The combination of the sour cherries with a beer as controversial as Gose is surprisingly plea-sant and strikingly refreshing. We do not mean to claim it is everyone's cup of tea, but it is definitely worth a try!
