Trenčiansky pivovar Lanius

Пиво Weizenbock - Trenčiansky pivovar Lanius

Bock - Weizenbock • 9.6% ABV

This beer style was born in 1907 in Germany as a response to the increasing popularity of a very strong, mid-dark lager — doppelbock. Weizenbier-oriented breweries were losing their custom-ers and thus Mathilda Schneider, the widow of headbrewer Georg III Schneider, combined this two styles in the heart of the Schneider Weisse brewery and created the weizenbock. After more than 100 years, this beer style is be-ing reborn in small craft breweries all around the world. The beer has a very complex and rich character. Sweet notes of banana, clove and vanilla typical for weizenbier blend together with a heavy maltiness and warming alcohol of a doppelbock. Small amount of chocolate malt produc-es prune-like aroma. The beer is very full-bodied and thanks to an abundance of wheat protein in combination with a low attenuation and suspended yeast it can be considered a liquid bread.
