Peppermint Mocha Achromatic is another iteration in our Achromatic series, which starts as an Imperial Stout brewed with an obscene amount of chocolate malts, oatmeal, and crystal malts to lend a sweet, robust malt backbone as a canvas for the adjuncts. We boil for more than 6 hours to achieve the unbelievably rich, chewy, thick mouthfeel of the base beer. For the Mocha iteration, we infused the beer with generous additions of both Ghanan cacao nibs and freshly roasted Mama Nelly’s blend coffee from our friends at Zoe’s Cafe, which features four different roasts of the same single origin Peruvian beans. The roast character from both the coffee and cacao complement the sweetness of the base beer. And the peppermint addition wraps it all in a delicious warm seasonal hug, perfect for sipping on cold winter nights.
