A golden, complex, effervescent, strong Belgian-style ale. This style was originally developed by the Moortgat brewery after WWII as a response to the growing popularity of Pilsner beers. Complex Aroma with significant fruity esters, moderate spiciness with moderate alcohol and hop aromas. Spicy and peppery phenols. Moderate distinctive perfumy with floral hop character. Alcohols are soft. Clear gold in color and Effervescent. Massive, long-lasting, rocky, beady, white head resulting in characteristic "Belgian lace" on the glass as it fades. A marriage flavor of fruity, spicy and alcohol supported by a soft malt character.
