Brampton Brewery

There once was another Brampton Brewery; in fact it’s fair to say that the original is the inspiration behind this new project and what continues to drive it forward. The relaunch as a microbrewery has been the realisation of life-long dreams for many of those involved. But there was nothing ‘micro’ about the original brewery, which ran for 130 years and owned 142 pubs, before brewing ceased in the 1950s. After an absence of over 50 years, it was reborn in the winter of 2007. A small team of local ale enthusiasts, led by head-brewer Chris Radford, revived the company name and breathed fresh life into the legend. Today this award-winning microbrewery operates three thriving cask-ale pubs, an off-sales shop and serves a local free-trade area.
