Nearly half a century ago a Bavarian brewing ordinance decreed that beer may be brewed only between 29 September and 23 April in order to avoid it from getting sour during the brewing process. Hence, the first brew was ready in March and this gave the name to the famous Märzen beer. A.Le Coq Imperial Märzen has a full body, malty flavour, and a beautiful deep amber colour. It should be served at 6 – 8 °C.
