"I'M A TAX PAYING CITIZEN!" These words are typically shouted when someones super-duper important and relevant problem is being ignored or dismissed in favor of some other less super-duper important (in their opinion) problem. "I'm a Tax Paying Citizen!" was the first release in our Pretentious Porter Series way back in 2017. It is our OG Porter. No coffee, chocolate, syrup or any other adjunct. Just a beautifully clean, chocolate forward expression of dark specialty malts supported by a gentle bitterness, and a velvety smooth mouthfeel. What is our pretentious porter series you ask? It’s exactly what you think. A series of porters named after people who act like they are more important or knowledgeable than they really are. Pretentious and Porter also just happens to be fun alliteration. We taste notes of dark chocolate and rich coffee that cascades into a pleasing roasty finish. Full bodied and creamy, but delicate and very easy to drink. Perfect for the autumn season.
