Fifty Shades of Gris is a barrel-aged 2016 edition of imperial gruit ale, Grandmaster O.G., a past silver medal winning beer at the Canadian Brewing Awards. Five months in pinot gris barrels have imparted a wine-like character to this imperial-strength gruit made with Labrador Tea, bog myrtle, thyme, and yarrow. Fifty Shades of Gris pours hazy orange with a white foam. Aromas are of lemon curd, with subtle oak and white wine. Herbal thyme flavour melds with zesty, lemony, vino notes. The finish is dry and slightly tannic.
