Brewer's Notes: Winter Rambler is a 6.4% farmhouse gruit brewed in collaborative partnership between Fullsteam Brewery and Free Range Brewing. A gruit is an ancient ale using creative combinations of herbs and spices and others in place of hops. This foraged gruit was brewed to celebrate our friendly farmers and foragers. Winter Rambler is brewed using juniper (foraged by The Chef’s Farmer, Shelby NC), fir tips (Smith Family Farms, Banner Elk, NC) and chokeberries (Indian Grove Farms, Mount Airy, NC). Winter Rambler smells of winter and snow covered fir trees with a touch of chokeberry lingering. It is easy drinking with a wine-like dryness, complemented by hints of berries and evergreen.
