This Imperial stout is the third variation of our Anniversary stout, which lived in a whiskey barrel for nearly a year. It was conditioned on toasted hazelnuts and cacao inside the barrel for another two months, allowing the beautiful friendship of hazelnuts, cacao and American char to interplay and form a delicate stout with strong notes of hazelnuts and chocolate. This is not your modern pastry stout, rather it’s a carefully constructed barrel-aged stout complemented by culinary ingredients that represent the balance we always strive for at Alternate Ending.
