A beautiful copper-colored ale, this recipe is a scaled-up version of homebrewer Jon Schiller's Märzen, and we think it's so delicious it deserves an "Atta boy, Jon!" Traditionally brewed in March in Germany and cold-lagered all summer, Märzens are often enjoyed around the long beer hall tables at Oktoberfest. This version is all delicious maltiness from aroma through taste, with a faint suggestion of noble hop balance on the finish. it may bring to mind the best whole-grain toast you've ever had, topped with the lightest bit of caramel and honey. Raising a pint of this with friends (or strangers) seems like an excellent idea! (Feel free to break out in song.) Ein prosit! Many thanks to Jon for brewing with us!
