Мёд Sleight - Pips Meadery

While we consider this to be a traditional at heart, it may fit a bit more in the experimental category. Sleight is a Meadowfoam Blossom Mead base that was aged for roughly 10 months in the barrels last holding our "Used Barrel Blackjack". While the stout characteristics had been completely pulled from the barrels once we aged our Black Raspberry mead in them, you can tell that this Meadowfoam traditional picked up a slight purple hue to it from all the Blackjack that was now trapped behind in the staves. With a bit of additional oak to still give, this barrel truly transformed this Meadowfoam base into something new entirely, with a final product that is reminiscent of some of our first experiences with meads from Poland. A barely there Black Raspberry profile meets Vanilla/Marshmallow and a touch of tannic oak.
