St. George Spirits rye whiskey barrels turned this amber ale into something magical. We brewed the base beer with whole lemons and mint leaves in the kettle, then dosed the casks with another lemon-mint jolt. The aroma blooms with citrus rind and sweet herb; the flavor is anchored by fluffy notes of vanilla—think angel food cake—courtesy of the wood; and the finish features rye spice and smooth bitterness.
