After seeing success with metal band collaborations earlier this year (Killswitch Engage, Municipal Waste), we're giving it another go with a Tampa-centric collaboration. Formed in Tampa in 1984, Obituary "was a fundamental act in the development of death metal and is one of the most successful death metal acts of all time," according to Wikipedia. The band still performs and we're using their September 9th show at The Brass Mug as a launch party for this beer. Tasting Notes: Caramel and bread crust aromas are met with herbal, woody hop notes on the nose while a palate toffee, fresh baked bread and a hint of chocolate is tempered by a high carbonation and moderate bitterness. Full bodied and malty yet refreshing and quaffable.
