Frenchy was a character played by Didi Conn in the 1978 American musical romantic comedy film Grease which was based on the 1971 musical of the same name. She was a member of the “Pink Ladies” Rydell High School’s coolest girl squad. Known for her ruby red hair and bubbly personality, Frenchy was always showing new students around the school or hosting a pajama party for the fellow “Ladies”. An early advocate of vocational education, Frenchy would leave Rydell High prior to receiving her diploma and enroll beauty school. Unfortunately, after a minor accident in tinting class turned Frenchy’s previously red hair bright, bubblegum pink she would dropout, frustrated and nearly giving up on her dreams of working in the beauty industry. Firm in her belief that education is key to a brighter future, Frenchy would eventually return to Rydell High in Grease 2 to pursue her diploma with the goal of starting her own cosmetic’s company. Beauty School Dropout is brewed in honor of Frenchy and all the other “Frenchies” out there that can’t be bothered to be slowed-up, kept down or held back from achieving their goals. It’s a French Saison brewed with hibiscus and ginger.
