BIRDS OF A FEATER: CHAPTER 1: During their explorations, Nomad and Dog stumble across Anatidae, a forest world inhabited by giant birds. They befriend Toulouse, an adolescent goose with beautiful feathers of grey, blue, and white. Toulouse and his nest-mates seem nervous, and they explain to Nomad that time is soon approaching for their first migration across the planet to winter in the southern hemisphere. Hearing of Nomad’s extensive travels, Toulouse asks her if she would travel with him. Nomad questions whether her additional weight would be an impediment, but Toulouse assures her that he is a capable flyer, but would love a friend to help with navigation. Nomad agrees, and they settle in for the night and prepare to depart in the morning.
