Мёд Barrel-Aged the Monte - Pips Meadery

The Monte is our Elderberry, Red Currant, Red Gooseberry mead. This batch saw a roughly 18 month slumber in a Maker's Mark barrel. The typically dark and robust flavor profile of this mead was massively deepened by it's time in the barrel. The flavor of spirit integrated in a manner that was extremely conducive for the addition of Vanilla. A hefty dose of Ugandan beans brought a rich and complex profile of earth, milk chocolate, fig and raisins to mix.
