This batch of Call of the Void saw a return to our favorite gin barrels: Rehorst Gin from Great Lakes Distillery. This iteration, however, sat for 17 months in the wood. The end result is a botanical brightness that pushes citrus, cardamom, cassia and juniper to the forefront. Acid from the currants is offset by both an underlying honey sweetness in addition to the sweet flavors of the oak. The added age allows the characteristics of the spirit to shine brighter than batches before it, leading to a crisper finish.
