Пиво Alpha Hop Society 2017: Tequila-Barrel-Aged Lime Gose - Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.

Ale brewed with lime and agave aged in tequila barrels. The base was an early prototype for our Otra Vez with Lime and Agave. On early trials, we were still experimenting with the amount of lime and how to use it. On this particular version, we brewed it with organic lime concentrate and dark blue agave syrup. In the end, it landed with a much higher ABV and a much sweeter finish than the target we set for the Otra Vez, but nevertheless, it was delicious. It occurred to us … “Lime, agave, sweet/tart … margaritas!” Luckily, we were able to secure a handful of tequila barrels a few weeks later and decided to test our theory. Holy cow, this beer is good. It’s moderately tart with a round sweet finish, and nice round lime flavor combined with the vegetal funk of reposado tequila barrels.
