Sultana is a newly branded hop varietal from our friends at HOPSTEINER (the same folks that brought us Lotus) that expresses a huge aroma and flavor profile of ripe pineapple. Like all DDH Juicy Bits variants, we started with our classic trio of Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops, but then doubled the dry hop addition with more than 4 lbs of Sultana per bbl, bringing the total hop rate to over 8 lbs/bbl! The bright citrus and tropical fruit contributions from the Sultana are an incredible complement to the existing powerhouse fruit character of the base beer, resulting in notes of pineapple, tangerine, apricot, and papaya on the nose while orange juice, peach, passionfruit, and grapefruit round out the finish.
