This was an experiment into aging hopped beers in bourbon barrels, and we are glad we did! The Black IPA sat in Bourbon Barrels for 18 months, and select lots sat in Sassafras Bitters Barrels (think Root Beer). Deep roasty malts & mellowed hop flavors blend with the caramel, molasses, and vanilla characteristics of bourbon and bitters barrels.
