This oatmeal stout has a hefty addition of oats – both golden naked and flaked – that lend a smooth mouthfeel, while a small portion of lactose rounds out the roasted flavors from chocolate rye and midnight wheat malts. At 5.2% ABV this beer is too small for a barrel, too dark to be hazy, and too sweet to be sour. A beer so impractical as to think it can fight today’s craft beer fads.
