For this pilot brew, members of our H&D team came together to learn more about the brewing process from Josh. The result of our efforts is an experimental ale with kveik yeast, a centuries-old Norwegian farmhouse-style yeast that has recently begun to be propagated by yeast labs, allowing for wider-spread use and experimentation. Also used in this brew were hops chosen by the H&D team: Palisade, Ella, and El Dorado. This pale-gold beer begins with tart, fruity aromas present from the first whiff. However, the body comes through light and sweet, with more citrusy notes and less puckering tartness. Finishing smoothly with a slight hoppy note, this brew is layered and refreshing. Cheers!
