"Nothing New in the West" was the report from the front lines which gave the name to the classic German book, better known in English as "All Quiet on the Western Front." The book described the harsh reality of a generation of soldiers scarred by World War I. The book was banned and burned by the Nazis and even adapted to an Academy Award winning film. Unfortunately, there are many young people facing the same fate today and censorship is still happening. So, we still have our work cut out for us. Fortunately, beer is a way to bring people together and broaden horizons. While the title has one meaning in the book, it refers to something different for this beer. Namely, there is nothing new in this West Coast IPA. We went with the original 4 C-Hops, in decreasing order Chinook, Centennial, Cascade, and Columbus for all the piney, citrus aromas and classic bitterness we still love. In this case, we are happy to report that there's nothing new in the West (Coast)!
