What is an XXX Stout you ask? X’s were used in the past to signify the relative strength of a beer. X being the lowest in alcohol, XX being stronger, and so on. Our Stout doesn't fit into any established BJCP category, so we decided to call it an XXX Stout. It’s flavour and mouthfeel are like a Dry Irish Stout, but at 7.5% ABV, it is certainly much more than that. Aromas of dark roasted coffee, dried prunes and an interesting note of pear are dominant, finishing dry and clean like a smooth cold brewed coffee on nitro.
