Пиво Old Man Grimes - Irish Red Ale - Bräugier Craftbier

Anybody who has been to our BrewPub on more than one occasion has almost undoubtedly seen Mr. Grimes with his trademark blue baseball cap and gray beard having a few beers at the bar. In celebration of his 50th birthday, we brewed a beer especially for him. He asked for an Irish Red Ale since it is one of his favorite styles from many trips visiting his family in Ireland. To do it right, we talked with Irish brewers, imported the malt from Ireland, and used an Irish ale yeast strain. We finished the recipe with classic East Kent Golding hops and kegged it with low CO2, as typical for beers on the other side of the channel. The signature red color and caramel maltiness with the low carbonation and low alcohol make this beer go down way too easy. We’ll be sad when it’s gone, so here’s to hoping Old Man Grimes (Irish gaelic: Aul Lad Grimes) makes it another 50 years, so we can brew it again :)
