Пиво Pils New Roman - Italian Pilsner - Bräugier Craftbier

Pilsner - Italian • 5.2% ABV • 40 IBU

There are so many things we love about beer and brewing, but one of our favorites is innovation. Whether it’s creating something completely new or iterating on a classic…well that’s exactly what happened with the Italian Pilsner, when the Tipopils was first brewed in Italy in 1996. It took the classic German pils and kept the same ingredients, but with a few important process changes. The character of the German hops really popped with additional intensity and richness. We named the beer with another reference to an awesome innovation from another creative industry: font design. Anybody who has ever opened Microsoft Word has spent plenty of time looking at Times New Roman font. But it wasn’t always there. The font was created and first used by the Times of London in the 1930s. It was an iteration of another font in the Roman font family, which has its origins in Italian printing from the 15th and 16th centuries. So with a nod to the Italian roots of the font and this brewing process, we are happy to present Pils New Roman. We used all German ingredients, including a hop lineup featuring Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Perle, with a dash of newer hop types Callista and Hallertau Blanc. We think the results are worthy of a front page newspaper article. Crisp, dry, and the right amount of bitterness like you expect from a German pils, yet with a fuller, richer grassy-floral hop aroma and taste.
