Пиво Sorachi Ace SMASH 11° - Trenčiansky pivovar Lanius

Pale Ale - American • 5.0% ABV

Beer is usually prepared by using several kinds of special malts and hops, adding to its complexity. It is a sum of all its ingredients but in order to create it, it is necessary to understand each of them individually. SMaSH stands for 'Single Malt and Single Hopped'. A beer brewed this way is a perfect way of understanding a malt, hops and even yeast without a number of overlapping flavors. It is as if you take a single instrument from the whole orchestra and you can appreciate the uniqueness of its sound. We have brewed a light pale beer of an American Pale Ale style. We have used a single malt, but the true intention was to introduce you to the specific taste of a Japanese hop Sorachi Ace. Sorachi Ace was created by breeding of the Bohemian Saaz and the English Brewer's Gold hops in the end of 1970s. In 1984 it became commercially available in China and Japan but remained undiscovered for the rest of the world until 2008, when an American company Virgil Gamache (the producer of Amarillo hop) started offering it. The taste of Sorachi Ace is strongly tangerine-like with a hint of lemon peel and coriander, making it one of world's strangest hops.
