Пиво Belgian Mulberry Triple Ale - Trenčiansky pivovar Lanius

In Belgium, the name Triple Ale describes very strong beer containing at least 9% ABV. As a basic concept forour mulberry special, we chose exactly this beer style. We added nearly 50 kg(110 lbs) mulberries in two doses: one during the mashing process and theother one directly to the fermentation tank. Those have granted originally Pale Ale ruby-red tones and distinct fruity flavour. It has a tender raspberry odour supplemented by light Pale-Ale-malt bouquet. In the taste, mild,but unmissable herbal bitterness ends soon after swallowing. The aftertaste is strongly fruity with malty sweetness lightened by easy sourness of mulberry.The fruit flavour builds up with every sip, until the mulberry origin dominates completely. Almost miraculous effects are attributed to mulberry. They are shown to lower blood pressure, they contain substances preventing cancer, slowing down ag-ing, they protect the retina of an eye and even act against brain stroke. Then add anti-oxidizing and soothing effects of hops and a number of biologically ac-tive substances of viable yeast and you get a magical potion worth sampling.
