We started by designing a Blonde Barleywine base specifically for the Eggnog treatment, using 100% Simpsons Golden Promise for the base malt, along with flaked oats and Turbinado sugar. Then we aged the finished beer on toasted and charred American oak spirals and nearly 250 lbs of pasteurized egg yolks (the equivalent of one yolk per pint). Finally we added a healthy dose of fresh ground nutmeg and a dash of fresh ground cinnamon, putting the final touches on this 10.5% ABV holiday treat. Due to the use of real egg yolks in this beer, we recommend storing Eggnog Barleywine COLD AT ALL TIMES AND ENJOYING FRESH!
